Scientist II – Wokingham - £20.94-£28.20 PH – 9 months

This role is working 36 hours a week 9-5 Thursday-Monday.

Working withing a Research & Development which is science led and results driven, the Microbiology Specialty Biopharma lab perform a wide range of analytical analysis for a variety of food, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies to support research and innovation.

Duties are to undertake a practical role with supervisory responsibilities within the Microbiology lab to ensure the projects performed are supervised effectively and accurately, focus on routine and investigative analysis of products using techniques such as Bioburdens, total viable aerobic count, endotoxins, environmental monitoring, train junior members of the team, client contact and administrative support for the lab management. Responsible for the maintenance of the instrument and lab systems including checking and approving supplier’s reports (qualifications, repairs and preventative reports.

Candidates will have a PHD or Degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience in a lab, good understanding of lab equipment, scientific understanding and ability to independently conduct chemical analysis in relevant area, adaptable to meet customer/business requirement, work on multiple activities, attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated with the ability to organize own work and others and experience of working in a regulated environment.
